Stand Up for D.C. Statehood

700,000 Americans living in our Nation’s capital do not have an elected representative to fight for them in the halls of Congress. Of those 700,000, just under 50% are black. This is not only an issue of democracy, but also of systemic and racial justice. We need to ensure that all Americans, no matter their race, nor the city they live in, have equal representation under the law. The citizens of Washington D.C. are no exception.

On November 8th, 2016 Washington DC voters went to the polls and by an overwhelming 86% said, “We Want Statehood.”

Statehood for Washington, D.C. is the only permanent solution to the centuries-old treatment of the residents of our Capital.  It will bring full representation to the people of Washington, D.C. while maintaining a Federal District as the seat of the government.

Washington, D.C. can’t do it without you. Sign your name to our petition, so everyone knows you stand for representative democracy and D.C. Statehood.
