Tell your Senator to Cosponsor the Bill for D.C. Statehood

700,000 Americans living in our Nation’s capital do not have an elected representative to fight for them in the halls of congress. Of those 700,000, just under 50% are black. This is not only an issue of democracy, but also of systemic and racial justice. We need to ensure that all Americans, no matter their race, nor the city they live in, have equal representation under the law. The citizens of Washington D.C. are no exception.

“Check to see if your Senator is cosponsoring the DC statehood bill. If not, call your Senators and demand they cosponsor and support D.C. Statehood. This is our chance to not only stand up for the rights of D.C. residents, but to build a stronger democracy that more accurately reflects our values of equality and fairness for all.”
