Twenty-six states, including Nevada & DC, allow citizen-led ballot initiatives and have a process for citizens to get measures on the ballot to be voted on to become law. This means that a group of citizens may place a measure on the ballot through gathering signatures, and, in some states, getting legislative approval once the set number of signatures is reached. Nevada must move forward with voting rights! AB 321 will protect voters’ access to the polls, giving them options to cast their ballots, ensuring accessible in-person vote centers for all communities, and more. In a victory for voting rights, Clark County Judge Gloria Sturman ruled the judicial seat for North Las Vegas Municipal Court Department 1 must go before voters in 2022.
