Twenty-four states, including Minnesota, do not feature a process for citizen-led ballot initiatives. This means that a state legislator must sponsor a bill in order for it to be voted on to become law. This requires you to be in relationship with your state legislatures. Some tactics used in these states to pressure on them to act are community powered lobbying, marching, and nonviolent civil disobedience. LEARN MORE!

FAIRVOTE MN APPLAUDS DFL FOR USING RANKED CHOICE VOTING FOR ONLINE CONVENTIONS AND OFFERS HELP FOR ALL PARTIES
The Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party has not only moved its conventions online, but has also adopted Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) for all of its races where there are contested endorsements. RCV is a smart and logical way to handle online voting with multiple candidates vying for endorsement. FairVote MN applauds the DFL for taking this approach.
