Twenty-four states, including Connecticut, do not feature a process for citizen-led ballot initiatives. This means that a state legislator must sponsor a bill in order for it to be voted on to become law. This requires you to be in relationship with your state legislatures. The Center for Public Integrity observed in 2020 that Connecticut has among the most restrictive voting laws outside of the south. Add your name to urge Connecticut lawmakers to endorse, prioritize and enact three key voting freedoms solutions during the 2022 legislative session.

The right to vote and have our voices heard is fundamental to our democracy. Our democracy is stronger when every eligible American participates, confident that when they cast a vote that it will be counted as cast. Make sure you are registered to vote and know where your polling place is located!
Proposed maps that revamp Connecticut’s congressional district boundaries, submitted by legislative Democrats and Republicans, would make relatively few changes to the state’s existing five congressional districts.
Several Connecticut Democrats proposed a plan last week to continue COVID-safe voting via absentee ballot through the 2022 general election.
